Terms of Service
Last updated 21 September 2026
These terms cover your use of duel.poker (“Duel”, “we”, “us”). By creating an account or playing, you agree to them. If you do not agree, please do not use the site.
1. What Duel is
Duel is a free online game of competitive heads-up No-Limit Hold'em, played as a skill sport. You are matched with a single opponent and play one match at a time. Results move your position on a ranked ladder.
Duel is a game. It is not a gambling service, a casino, a betting exchange, or a money transmission service, and it does not offer any of those things.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old to create an account or play. If you are under 18, you may not use Duel, even though it is free.
You are responsible for making sure that using Duel is lawful where you live. If it is not, you may not use it.
3. Your account
An account is created with an email address. We send a one-tap sign-in link to that address; clicking it creates or opens your account. You may later set a password.
One account per person. Keep your email account and any password secure — anyone with access to your inbox can sign in as you. Tell us promptly if you believe someone else is using your account.
Choose a username that is not offensive, not impersonating someone else, and not intended to mislead other players. We may change or reclaim a username that breaks this.
4. Fair play
You agree not to:
- use software to choose your actions for you, automate play, or otherwise play through a program rather than playing yourself;
- hold more than one account, or use another person's account, in order to affect ratings or standings;
- arrange results with another player, or otherwise cooperate to move either player's rating;
- interfere with the service — probing, overloading, reverse engineering the protocol to gain an in-game advantage, or attacking other users.
Breaking these may cost you your rating, your standing, or your account. We would rather explain than punish, but competitive integrity is the product.
5. No real money, no prizes
Duel is free to play. There is no real money, no prizes, and no cash-out.
There is nothing to deposit and nothing to withdraw. We do not sell chips, credits, entries, or any other in-game item, and there is no paid tier. Nothing you achieve on Duel — a rating, a rank, a season finish, or a title — has monetary value, can be exchanged for anything of value, or can be transferred or sold.
The chips used during a match are scorekeeping. They exist only to decide who wins the match, they cannot be bought, and they cannot be cashed out.
6. Ratings, seasons and standings
Your rating is calculated by the site and is ours to administer. We may recalculate, correct, reset or void ratings and results — for example after a fault in the service, or where a result came from behaviour that breaks clause 4.
Seasons close and standings settle on a schedule we set, and we may change that schedule. No rank, title or place on a board is guaranteed to persist.
7. Availability
Duel is provided as it is, without warranty. We do not promise that the service will be uninterrupted, that a match will always complete, or that the site will be free of faults. We may change, suspend or withdraw any part of it, including whole features.
To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss arising from your use of Duel. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
8. Ending your use
You may stop using Duel at any time. We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, or where we are required to.
9. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. The date at the top changes when we do, and continuing to use Duel after a change means you accept the updated terms.
10. Privacy
What we collect and why is set out in the Privacy Policy, which forms part of these terms.
